Sergey Gorbatov is a management consultant, educator and coach in the disciplines of human resources and organizational behavior. He writes, speaks and teaches about the complex science of human performance, while making it simple.

Sergey is a seasoned facilitator, leadership coach, and accomplished educator with a wealth of experience in leadership assessment and development. With a keen focus on personal and team growth, Sergey excels in coaching executives and delivering impactful team sessions at all levels within organizations. As an educator, he brings his extensive executive education and corporate HR background to empower individuals and teams to reach their full potential.
 

With 18 years of experience delivering exceptional results across a diverse range of roles, his deep expertise lies in the areas of Talent Management, Leadership Development and Organization Effectiveness. Sergey excels in complex environments that demand innovation, quick decision-making and effective teamwork. Having worked in headquarters, regional and affiliate organizations, Sergey possesses invaluable firsthand knowledge of operating in multinational matrix environments at renowned companies such as AbbVie, PMI and Shell

 

Sergey earned his MA in Linguistics and Intercultural Communication at Orel State University in Russia, complemented with an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid, Spain. He obtained his Ph.D. in Management at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands. His recent book ‘FairTalk: Three Steps to Powerful Feedback,’ co-authored with Angela Lane, enables any leader to drive results in their teams through fair, focused and credible feedback.

 

A true traveler at heart, Sergey is passionate about cultures, diversity and languages. A Russian native, he has lived and worked in the United States, Russia, South Africa, Spain and Switzerland.
